Sri Lanka continues their dominance once again with a comprehensive win against Afghanistan by 72 runs in the Second T20I match at RDICS in Dambulla.
Afghanistan won the toss and invited Sri Lanka to bat first. This time, Sri Lanka’s opening wickets were dismissed quickly, but at the last moment, Sadeera Samarawickrama and Angelo Mathews built a 66-run partnership in 34 balls. With that, Sri Lanka set a target of 188 for Afghanistan.
In reply, Sri Lanka’s bowling unit delivered impactful spells once again as they restricted Afghanistan’s innings to 115 runs in 17 overs. In this match, Wanindu Hasaranga took 2 wickets, which makes him the second-fastest bowler to reach 100 wickets in T20Is, behind Rashid Khan (53 innings). With this win, Sri Lanka leads the T20I series 2-0.
