Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first, taking the first Sri Lankan wicket in the third over. However, Kusal Mendis took responsibility and smashed 86 runs with 6 fours and 6 sixes, helping Sri Lanka to post 174/7 in their allocated 20 overs. Taskin Ahmed & Rishad Hossain took 2 wickets for Bangladesh.
In reply, Bangladesh started their innings with Litton Das and Soumya Sarkar. Sri Lanka’s young bowler Nuwan Thushara was the game-changer who took three wickets in a row. Unfortunately, Bangladesh lost their 6 wickets quickly in the first 9 overs. But Rishad Hossain’s 53 runs brought Bangladesh closer to victory. Eventually, Bangladesh could only manage to score 146 runs before being all out in 19.4 overs. With this victory, Sri Lanka won the series 2-1.
