In the 5th IPL match of 2024 between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians at Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat Titans won by 6 runs.
Earlier, Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bowl first. Sai Sudharsan was the highest scorer for Gujarat Titans; he scored 45 runs, and the new skipper, Shubman Gill, added 31 runs to the total, posting 168/6. Jasprit Bumrah (3), Gerald Coetzee (2), and Piyush Chawla (1) claimed wickets for Mumbai Indians.
Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan started the MI innings. In the 0.4th over, Kishan was dismissed for a duck by Azmatullah Omarzai. After that, Rohit Sharma (43) and Dewald Brevis (46) contributed to the MI total, but it was not enough to chase the target. Eventually, the Gujarat Titans’ bowling attack put pressure on MI and limited them to 162/9 in 20 overs.
