Havishka Perera, a 15 year old student from the British School in Colombo, made great strides at the 39th Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Rowing Nationals 2024 took place from 3rd April to 6th April 2024 at Diyawannawa Rowing Center, Battaramulla.
She clocked 8 minutes 39 seconds in the School Girl Scull event, an all time best timing by a schoolgirl rower which also won her the award for the Best Junior Girl rower at the event, representing the Diyawannawa Rowing Academy.
Similarly, she has won the gold medal in Under- 18 Girls single Scull event with a timing of 8 minutes 46 seconds, proving her cause to be the best Junior single scull rower at just 15 years.
She is currently practicing for the Sri Lanka Junior pool and has seen great improvement in her 2 years of rowing. Since 2022 she has won many National Medals and also represented Sri Lanka in Asian Junior Rowing Championship last year in Thailand.
