Sunrisers Hyderabad rewrote history once again by registering the highest ever score (287) in an IPL match.
The historic match began with Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis winning the toss and opting to bowl first. Travis Head scored the fastest ton for Sunrisers, smashing 102 runs off just 41 balls, while Heinrich Klaasen contributed 67 runs to the innings.
Chasing the mammoth target, Royal Challengers’ Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis built an 80-run partnership before Kohli was dismissed by Mayank Markande. Dinesh Karthik(83) then took to the crease and unleashed a magical display of fireworks, keeping RCB’s hopes alive. Eventually, Royal Challengers managed to post 262/7 in their allocated 20 overs, falling short by 25 runs of the victory target.
