Bangladesh have qualified for the Super 8s after their 21-run win over Nepal.

Riding on an excellent bowling performance from Tanzim Hasan (4/7), Mustafizur Rahman (3/7), and Shakib Al Hasan (2/9), Bangladesh defeated Nepal by 21 runs and become the eighth and the final team to qualify for the Super 8s. They are grouped with India, Australia and Afghanistan in Group 1. 106 from Bangladesh is the lowest-ever total defended in a Men’s T20 World Cup history!

Batting first Nepal led by inspiring spell from Sompal Kami, who struck with the first ball, restricted Bangladesh to a paltry 106 in 19.3 overs This is Bangladesh’s lowest total against an associate nation in T20 World Cups. Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane also completed his 100 wickets in the T20Is. For Nepal, Sompal Kami (2/10), Dipendra Singh Airee (2/22), Rohit Paudel (2/20), and Sandeep Lamichhane (2/17) picked up two wickets each.

In reply, Nepal could only muster 85 runs in 19.2 overs. At one stage they were reduced to 26 for 5, before a valiant 57-run stand for the sixth wicket between Dipendra Singh Airee (25) and Kushal Malla (27) steadied the ship and kept then in the hunt.
