T20WC2024- 2nd Semi Final- Will India take revenge from England ?

India, who have managed to remain unbeaten in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, are all set to face England in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup in Guayana on Thursday.

Rohit Sharma and Co will seek revenge for their defeat from last edition’s semi-final when the English outclassed them by 10 wickets to qualify for the final.

Jos Buttler’s men, on the other hand, will hope to repeat their feat from 2022 and try and become the first team to defend their world title.

There is no reserve day for the semis in case of a washout. Therefore, if rain affects the semi-final clashes, the team finishing at the top of their group would qualify for the World Cup final. Thus, even if India vs England ends in a ‘No Result’, India would qualify for the T20 World Cup 2024 Final as they topped Group 1.

England have safely negotiated a rocky route and a fair bit of rain to reach the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup – but could the weather again be set to scupper Jos Buttler’s side?

After opening their tournament with a rain-off against Scotland in Barbados which, followed up by defeat to Australia, had England on the brink of elimination before the holders turned things around to sneak into the Super 8s and then secure a final four spot.

While they eased past debutants USA, the defending champions will face a real test in their title defence when they face the pre-tournament favourites India in the last four at a venue where they do not possess a great record.
