Magical spell of Matheesha Pathirana paved the way for Colombo Strikers to secure a thrilling 2-run win over Kandy Falcons in the 7th match of the LPL 2024, played at Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.
After being put into bat first by Kandy Falcons Colombo Strikers to finish with a massive 199/9 in their 20 overs.

Chasing a mammoth target of 200 runs, Dinesh Chandimal and Andre Fletcher could not give them a better start. Nevertheless second wicket partnership of 95 runs by Fletcher and Mohammad Haris put them back to track.
The falling of wickets in regular intervals made Kandy Falcons in tense.
Kandy needed 23 from the last 2 overs, Pathirana conceded only 2 singles in the penultimate over which made even tougher for the Falcons.
Pathirana was just too good with the ball in hand, finishing with 4/26 as he was adjudged as the Player of the Match.
Back-to-back losses for the Falcons. Both at the hands of the Strikers and quite interestingly, they lost both games while chasing.
