This was the highest chase of this LPL season. The Kandy Falcons chased down the target with 10 balls to spare and won by 7 wickets against the Jaffna Kings.
The Kandy Falcons won the toss and opted to bowl first. Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis scored a 112-run partnership for Jaffna’s first wicket. Pathum scored a superb 119, including 16 fours and 4 sixes. Dasun Shanaka picked up 3 wickets for the Kandy Falcons, while Dushmantha Chameera and Ramesh Mendis took 2 wickets each. In 20 overs, Jaffna scored 224/7.
Chasing the mammoth target, Dinesh Chandimal scored 89 runs with 8 fours and 7 sixes to lead the Kandy innings. However, Kamindu Mendis and Angelo Mathews finished the game in 18.2 overs.
