The 15th match of LPL 2024 is between the Kandy Falcons and the Jaffna Kings. Due to bad weather, the match was delayed and reduced to 7 overs with the powerplay comprising two overs.
Asked to bat first, the Kandy Falcons started their innings with Dinesh Chandimal and Andre Fletcher. They lost their first wicket quickly in the first over, but Mohammad Haris built up a 56-run partnership with Chandimal. Haris and Chandimal scored 30 and 21 runs respectively. Ultimately, the Kandy Falcons posted 78/5 in 7 overs. Jason Behrendorff took 3 wickets for the Jaffna Kings.
In reply, the Jaffna Kings lost their first three important wickets at regular intervals. However, skipper Charith Asalanka and Avishka Fernando’s quick-fire innings brought the Jaffna Kings close to the target. Wanindu Hasaranga took 2 wickets in the same over and tried to turn the match. Eventually, Azmatullah Omarzai finished the game with 7 balls to spare.
