Jessica Hull Shatters Women’s 2000m World Record Ahead of Paris Olympics

Jessica Hull – Paris Olympics : Australian runner Jessica Hull has set the athletics world alight by breaking the women’s 2000m world record at the Monaco Diamond League on July 12, 2024. This remarkable achievement comes just weeks before the highly anticipated Paris Olympics, positioning Hull as a formidable contender.

Hull blazed through the 2000m race, finishing in an astonishing 5:19.70, breaking the previous record of 5:21.56 set by Francine Niyonsaba of Burundi in 2021. Hull’s performance was nothing short of spectacular as she left the crowd in awe, maintaining a blistering pace and relying on the trackside lights to guide her to the finish.

“It was an incredible feeling,” Hull said after her historic run. “Being alone on the last lap with everyone cheering me on, I just kept my eyes on those lights, hoping they wouldn’t catch me.”
