16 Junior Shuttlers for Indonesia

Sixteen junior shuttlers (8 boys and 8 girls) are expected to take part at the 8th Asian Schools Badminton championship which is scheduled to be held from August 25 to September 1 at Semarang University in Indonesia.

This is a good opportunity for Sri Lanka juniors to gain experience while seven Asian countries including host Indonesia will take part in this event which is organized by the Central Java Provincial Government and their Youth and Sports Ministry.

The school players who have selected after trials are: Shenul Samararatne, Thilina Rajakaruna, Reshan Herath, Thejana Herath, Thidasa Weragoda, Sanuda Ariyasinghe, Thesath Rajapaksa and Daham Gunawardena who are included in the boys team while Pawani Induwari, Dilini Ambalangoda, Rannulu Livera, Sithuli Ranasinghe Nethumi Ranasinghe,Dewmini Gallage, Lakshana Sanjeewa and Ranumi Suhasnie are in the girls team.

Nilupul Amarasinghe (Head coach) while two other coaches Haridu Udayage and Dilshan Pieris also will accompany the team. Dharshana Bandara (Manager) and lady chaperon Gayani Hinidumage are also with the tour party.
