SAACJAC2024-10 medals for Sri Lanka on the second day

Yesterday, the second day of the fourth South Asian Junior (Under 20) Athletics Tournament, the Sri Lankan athletes managed to add 10 more medals to their tally.

It included one gold medal, one silver medal and 8 bronze medals.

Sandun Kosala managed to win the only gold medal for Sri Lanka yesterday in the tournament held in Chennai, India by completing the 110 meters hurdles event in 14.06 seconds. The bronze medal was won by Vishwa Taruka (14.27 sec.).

Meanwhile, Omel Shashinta, who competed in the men’s 400m event, managed to claim the only silver medal won by Sri Lanka yesterday.

Thevindu Sandhil (7.22m) in men’s long jump, Savindya Jayamaha (37.95m) in women’s discus throw and Dinuka Dabare (39.24m) in men’s discus throw won bronze medals for Sri Lanka.

Miuni Sidasna (15.32s) in Women’s 100m Hurdles, Dhananjana Sitmini (5.73m) in Women’s Long Jump, Dulanjani Deepani (10:39.39m) in Women’s 3000m and Takshima Nuhansa (55.27s) in Women’s 400m for Sri Lanka They won bronze medals.

With this, at the end of the second day of the tournament, Sri Lanka has won 4 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 11 bronze medals.

29 players and 25 female players from Sri Lanka are participating in this tournament, which is joined by 6 countries, and the tournament is scheduled to end today (13).
