Kamindu Mendis’ Century Propels Sri Lanka to 302/7 on Day 1

Kamindu Mendis’ outstanding century takes Sri Lanka to 302/7 at stumps on Day 1 at Galle International Stadium. He scored his fourth Test century (114) off 173 balls, including 11 fours.

The first Test match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand began with Sri Lanka’s skipper Dhananjaya de Silva winning the toss and choosing to bat first.

For Sri Lanka, Kusal Mendis and Angelo Mathews contributed 50 and 36 runs respectively. William O’Rourke took 3 wickets, while Glenn Phillips claimed 2 wickets for New Zealand.
