Sri Lanka rugby team to Nepal today for the Asian seven-member qualifying tournament

The national men’s team led by Tarinda Rathwatta and the women’s team led by Randika Kumudumalee left for Nepal this morning (3) with the aim of rejoining the Asian seven-a-side rugby series that Sri Lanka has lost.

Rugby playersfrom 14 countries and 8 countries have joined the women’s division in the qualifying tournament that will start tomorrow (4) in Kathmandu, Nepal to enter the Asian seven-a-side rugby series next year.

Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Chinese Taipei, India, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan along with Sri Lanka in men’s competition and Sri Lanka along with Guam, India, Indonesia, Iran, Nepal, in women’s competition. Also includes the Philippines and Uzbekistan.
