Sri Lanka’s all-round performance sealed the T20I series 2-1 by winning by 9 wickets against the West Indies.
Earlier, the West Indies won the toss and began their innings at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla. Maheesh Theekshana’s magical spells secured the first two wickets for Sri Lanka. After that, the West Indies struggled to score runs. However, a valuable contribution from skipper Rovman Powell helped build the West Indies’ innings to 162/8, as he scored 37 runs.
In reply, the unbeaten partnership of 106 runs between Kusal Mendis and Kusal Perera enabled Sri Lanka to chase down the target easily with two overs to spare. Pathum Nissanka also contributed 39 runs to Sri Lanka’s innings.
