Evin Lewis’s unbeaten 102 led the West Indies to victory over Sri Lanka in the third ODI at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.
Sri Lanka, asked to bat first, saw their innings interrupted several times by rain. As a result, the match was reduced to 23 overs, and Sri Lanka posted 156/3, with Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis each contributing 56 runs to build the innings. Under the DLS method, the West Indies were set a target of 195.
In response, Evin Lewis and Sherfane Rutherford formed an unbeaten 88-run partnership, securing victory for the West Indies by 8 wickets with six balls to spare. Rutherford scored 50*.
Despite this win, the West Indies only managed to take one ODI match in the series, as Sri Lanka had already clinched the series 2-1 by winning the first two ODIs.
