SL v NZ – 2nd T20I: Series Leveled! New Zealand fights back

New Zealand Strikes Back! Leveling the series with a strong win by 5 runs in the 2nd T20I at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Dambulla.

Once again, Sri Lankan bowlers delivered impactful spells to unsettle New Zealand, restricting them to just 108 runs in 19.3 overs. Wanindu Hasaranga and Matheesha Pathirana were instrumental, claiming 4 and 3 wickets respectively to lead Sri Lanka’s bowling attack.

While chasing the modest target, New Zealand’s bowler Lockie Ferguson took a hat-trick and gave pressure on Sri Lanka batting lineup. However, Pathum Nissanka (52) and Maheesh Theekshana (14) built a decent partnership and get Sri Lanka to the winning track. But Glenn Phillips’s last-over heroics, took 3 wickets and restricted Sri Lanka to 103 runs.
