The Faldo Series Sri Lanka 2025 powered by DFCC Bank and hosted by Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC), continued into its second day yesterday, with some exhilarating performances across all categories.
Both Reshan Algama and Kaya Daluwatte maintain their top position in their segment while Haroon Aslam and Yannik Kumara held on to the top position in the 17 to 21 Boys’ category.
Algama, the talented left-handed world-ranked junior, didn’t have his best day but still managed to maintain his overall lead and dominance in the Boys’ 13-16 category with a total score of 140 after a second-round 73.
Hot on his heels Jevahn Sathasivam, who delivered an under-par round of 70 for a total score of 143, placed him just three strokes behind Algama. Jevahn had a great day two with birdies on 7, 8, 14 and 15.
In the Girls’ 13-21 category, Daluwatta once again proved her immense potential, carding another three-under-par round of 69. With a total score of 138, Daluwatta remains the standout performer in her division, showcasing remarkable consistency.
Behind her, Dia Cris Kumar (India) holds second place with 150.
The Boys’ 17-21 category saw exceptional play on day two, with both Haroon Aslam and Yannik Kumara shooting impressive two-under-par rounds of 69 to share the top spot at 141. Both were on equal terms on top spot on day one as well.
The Boys’ 11-12 (Faldo Futures) category was equally competitive, with Lavindu Premaratna leading the pack with a total score of 73 after an impressive second-round 34. Revaan Amarasinghe followed closely with 75.
In the Girls’ 11-12 segment, Genuli Weerakoon held her nerve and delivered a consistent performance across both rounds, leading with a total score of 85. Nimasha Iddamalgoda secured second place with 104.
In the Boys’ 9-10 category, Vivaan Singh (India) continued to dominate with a total score of 74. Jaeden Sathasivam is following in second place on 81.
Meanwhile, in the Girls’ 9-10 category, Aashna Amogha (India) leads with 89, followed closely by Brighton Chan (Hong Kong) with a score of 94.
