14-year-old Ira Jadhav slams 346 in U-19 cricket breaks Smriti Mandhana’s record

14-year-old Mumbai opener Ira Jadhav on Sunday became the first Indian to slam a triple hundred in U19 cricket.

Opening the batting for Mumbai in the U19 Women’s One Day Trophy, Jadhav waltzed into the record books as she broke India batter Smriti Mandhana’s age-group record for the highest U19 score by an Indian.

Jadhav sent the hapless Meghalaya attack at the Alur Cricket Ground on an unprecedented leather hunt, collecting 42 fours and 16 sixes in her marathon innings. The teenager finished unbeaten on 346 off 157 balls as Mumbai mounted a mammoth 563/3 in 50 overs – the highest score by an Indian women’s domestic side across all tournaments and age groups.
