Sri Lanka leaves for 2025 ICC T20 Youth World Cup

The Sri Lankan team left the island early Saturday to play in the Under-19 Women’s Twenty20 World Cup to be held in Malaysia.

Sri Lanka will play in the ‘A’ group in the preliminary round of this tournament, which is divided into 4 groups with the participation of 16 teams.

The group includes hosts Malaysia, West Indies and India.

Starting the series, the first match will be played between Australia and Scotland.

Under this, Sri Lanka’s first match will be played against Malaysia on January 19 in Kuala Lumpur.

On Friday, the Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee announced a 15-member squad for the tournament, including Limansa Thilakaratne, the daughter of former Sri Lanka captain Thilakaratne Dilshan.

Manudi Nanayakkara of Moratuwa Princess of Wales College was named as the team leader.
