Limansa Thilakaratne’s excellent bowling pereformance helped , the Sri Lanka youth team defeated Samoa by 76 runs in the training matches of the Under-19 Twenty20 World Cup cricket tournament yesterday.
Batting first in the match held in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, the Samoan team could score only 38 runs in 12.4 overs against a target of 115 given by the Sri Lankan team
None of the opposing batsmen had a chance to reach the 10-run limit in front of the Sri Lankan bowlers, and Limansa Thilakaratne, who bowled brilliantly, took 5 wickets for 6 runs. Apart from that, Chamodi Prabodha took 3 wickets and Aseni Thalagune took 2 wickets.
Earlier, Sri Lanka joined Bangladesh in a practice match, and in that match, Bangladesh won by 4 wickets.
