The official opening of the new Eagles Citadel (‘Eagles Citadel Golf Course’) golf course, built at the Air Force Base Sigiriya according to international standards, took place today (January 17, 2025) with the aim of promoting tourism in Sri Lanka.
It was declared opend under the leadership of the Secretary of the Defense Ministry, retired Air Vice Marshal Sampath Tuiyakontha, with the cooperation of Air Chief Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa.
This golf course, which is built around the Sigiriya area, which is considered to be the main tourist paradise for local and foreign tourists, has been built beautifully to attract tourists in the beautiful environment of the Sigiriya Air Force Base.
Island T and Island Bay places have been built in this new golf course in order to provide the beauty of the golf course as well as the opportunity for golf players to experience challenging competition.
The Sri Lanka Air Force has three international level golf courses built in Trikunamalay, Anuradhapura and Koggala Air Force Bases and this golf course built at Sigiriya Air Force Base is the fourth golf course owned by the Air Force.
