Tharushi secured seventh place in her first race in 2025

Running for her first NCAA event for Tulane University in the USA at the Vanderbolt Indoor Invitational Championship, Tharushi Karunarathna finished overall 7th clocking a time of 2.49.04 in the Women’s 1000m event.
