Lucknow took a risk by winning the toss and choosing to bowl first on Sunrisers’ home ground. Sunrisers continued their momentum and posted 190/9 in their allocated 20 overs. Travis Head scored 47 runs with 4 fours and 3 sixes.
In reply, Nicholas Pooran’s fireworks put Lucknow back on the winning track after the early loss of the first wicket. Pooran contributed 70 runs off 26 balls, hitting 6 fours and 6 sixes.
In the middle overs, Lucknow came under some pressure from the Sunrisers’ bowlers, but David Miller and Abdul Samad finished the game with 23 balls to spare.
