Sri Lanka A won by 4 wickets with 11 overs to spare against Afghanistan A in the fourth ODI of the Tri-Nation tournament held in Abu Dhabi yesterday. With this victory, Sri Lanka A remains unbeaten and will face Ireland A in the final tomorrow (25) at the same venue.
Afghanistan A batted first, scoring 228 runs for 6 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Skipper Darwish Rasooli top-scored with 76 runs off 77 balls, hitting 6 fours and 2 sixes. Tharindu Ratnayake, the Sri Lankan A spinner was effective with the ball, claiming 4 wickets for 45 runs, while both Milan Ratnayake and Wanuja Sahan took 2 wickets each.
Sri Lanka A successfully chased down the target of 229 runs, with opener Kamil Mishara scoring a solid 81 runs off 72 balls, hitting 7 fours and 2 sixes. Nuwanidu Fernando also played well, making 51 runs off 54 balls, with 8 fours.
The pair formed a strong partnership, adding 110 runs for the second wicket, which guided Sri Lanka A toward victory. Pavan Ratnayake chipped in with a crucial unbeaten 46 runs off 41 balls, striking 5 fours and finishing the match with a winning six over Sharafudden Ashraf in just 39 overs.

In an upset, Ireland A defeated Afghanistan A in their previous game, allowing Ireland to advance to the final. Afghanistan’s exit was surprising since both teams had one win, but Ireland had a higher net run rate.
