Sri Lanka’s Yevan David dominates opening round of 2025 EuroFormula Open

17-year-old Sri Lankan sensation Yevan David kicked off the 2025 EuroFormula Open Championship in style, clinching victories in Race 2 and Race 3 at the Algarve International Circuit in Portimão, Portugal.

After finishing third in Race 1, David delivered a dominant performance to secure his first wins of the season and also the first for his team, Motopark, in the current championship.

Following the impressive weekend, Yevan now leads the championship standings with 65 points, ahead of teammate Michael Shin, who sits at 55 points.

Speaking after his triumph, David said, “Competition is much higher this year, and it’s going to be an interesting fight at the top. I want to be part of it!”

The next round of the EuroFormula Open Championship is scheduled to take place in Belgium next month, where David will aim to extend his lead.
