Sri Lankan Indoor cricket team wins historic first overseas series in England

The Sri Lankan national indoor cricket team clinched their first overseas series win on Wednesday (Jan 15) defeating England.

Sri Lanka entered the 3rd day of the 6 match tournament being worked off in Birmingham leading the series 3- 1.

Game 5 saw the hosts batting first and setting a target of 88 runs. They managed to cling onto victory by restricting Sri Lanka to 86 runs.

Game 6 was the series decider and Sri Lanka needed to win, to secure a historic series win. The touring party managed to defend 66 runs and went onto win the game by 10 runs, clinching the 6 game series 4-2 in the process.

This is incidentally the first overseas series win by the Sri Lankan indoor cricket in 20 years.

Game 3 : Sri Lanka won by 12 runs
Game 4 : Sri Lanka won by 08 runs
Game 5 : England won by 02 runs
Game 6 : Sri Lanka won by 10 runs
