“We are training very well without any free time and especially continue our training both morning and evening sessions said Sri Lanka test and one day skipper Dimuth Karunaratne after the final day of the training session on Friday. The first batch of Sri Lankan team members has been finish their residential training camp on Friday with successful one week after 81 days lock down period .
Actually as a captain I am very happy to see my teammates get this type of training after 81 days lock down period due to corona virus epidemic. We also expected to start our next training session after one week’s time with the assistance of our hard working coaching staff headed by Mickey Arthur .
Karunaratne also said ,To be honest I feel it was really good . The last 80-90 days we were very tight and strength was not up to the mark also not good fit to take on practices .Actually even When I was training first day it was very hard for me . Now I am shaping well and and am doing my fitness back also my weight is getting lost . As the captain we are doing righting thin I can give good message to my other team mates We are trying to coming bounce back and hope to play good International cricket in future .
Meanwhile Sri Lanka cricket head coach Mickey Arthur said ‘ Our training has been magnificent . This is all part of return to play program . The returning to play program means we are getting our players ready to play cricket . The bonus obviously take lot more longer than the batsman so we need the bowlers have to increase their work load and put them to start their bowling .Actually we were achieve that goal . We were getting lot of conditioning in and we everyday up they bowling and they almost ready in next month they will ready to play cricket .
Sri Lankan team members did their traning at CCC grounds from last 6th June and they had to stay at Shangri-La Hotel during this period with the advice from medical officials.
