Veteran Paddler Lalith invites professional to take on Table Tennis for fitness

Former Sri Lanka Table Tennis Champion Lalith Priyantha contemplates to introduce a concept to promote veteran Table Tennis for the first time in Sri Lanka. The 55-year-old champion paddler still active in this sport and he already won the championships more than ten times at the National  Veteran TT championships. “I think TT can be played even at the age of 80. Actually there is an event of over 80 categories at the World Championships anyone can play this sport to maintain their healthy body. I love this sport because from my childhood I improved to reach the National level and International level to get honor in my country. I have still not given up on this sport and still playing as well as doing coaching to promote the game” added Lalith Priyantha.

He says that there is a demand to learn and play Table Tennis even by players at 50 years or over. “This a very simple sport to maintain your fitness and good health with simple movements around a table. I wanted to make it popular not only among youngsters but also the veteran who start after 40 years of age. I wanted to invite professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers , teachers, businessmen, and others from both genders men and women to join with my new veteran TT concept” Priyantha added.

Age is not a barrier to take on to a sport of this nature for anyone interested in easily maintaining their fitness. “As a veteran paddler I already played more than 40 tournaments and lost only one, my determination is very high and always like to give my knowledge to others with promoting this spot” said Lalith Priyantha.
