Aravinda to head new Sri Lanka cricket Technical committee

A committee of four former Sri Lankan cricketers has been appointed today (May 5) to advise on the future role of Sri Lanka Cricket in the development of the game in line with a concept of Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa.

Its chairman is Aravinda de Silva, a former captain of Sri Lanka and a member of the 96 World Champions team. The other members are Roshan Mahanama, Muttiah Muralitharan and Kumar Sangakkara.

The main function of this committee is to advise the Minister of Sports, the Ministry of Sports and the National Sports Council on the steps to be taken for the development of Sri Lanka Cricket.

The Minister of Sports has suggested that the names of the members of the Acting Technical Advisory Committee within Sri Lanka Cricket be used as well.
