School Cricket appoints 12 Provincial Coordinators

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has appointed 12 School Cricket Provincial Coordinators to find talented athletes from all over the country.

The main responsibility of the appointed coordinators is to find sportsmen and women of all ages covering districts and provinces to the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association. Accordingly, they will work with district and provincial cricket associations, school coaches, cricket lecturers and principals to identify the hidden talents of sportsmen and women and bring them to the national level through youth level programs.

Launched in 2017/2018 with four coordinators, Sri Lanka Cricket has increased the number of coordinators to 6 by 2020 with the aim of expanding the number of coordinators to cover all regions of the country.

Chinthaka Edirimanne, Head of the Local Cricket Division, Thilak Wattuhewa, President of the Schools Cricket Association and Kamal Indrajith, Secretary of the Schools Cricket Association were present at the presentation of the Certificates of Appointment of the Coordinators at the Sri Lanka Cricket Headquarters recently.
