Under 19 School Cricket in March-April

All arrangements have been made to hold the Inter-School Under-19 Cricket Tournament, a dream of school cricket players, from March 20 to August 9, in full consultation with the health authorities.

With the blessings of the Sri Lanka Cricket Institute, 128 school teams are scheduled to participate in this tournament organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association. The Schools Cricket Association says that spectators will not be able to watch this game on the health advice of school children or parents.

The number of teams participating in this year’s tournament is 128. Accordingly, 36 teams will participate in Division I, 35 teams in Division II and 57 teams in Division III. Fifty-seven teams from the third division belong to the first division and more teams are expected to compete in the future, when the competition in the second and third divisions of the division will increase, the Schools Cricket Association said.

Competitions in the first and second divisions are organized for the first time in two divisions, Tier (A / B). This time they are ranked according to the talents and scores shown by the teams at the last school tournament. This year, each team will have the opportunity to participate in nine matches in the preliminary round and the Schools Cricket Association expects the finals to be held in late April and early May. All these matches are ODI limited overs matches.
