West Indies clinched T20 series 2-1

West Indies beat Sri Lanka by three wickets in the third and final Twenty20 match in Antigua today (8).

Chasing a target of 132 for victory, the West Indies chased down the target by just seven wickets in 19 overs.

West Indies’ top scorer Lendi Simmons scored 26 off 18 balls with three sixes and three fours, while Fabian Allen entered the innings with an unbeaten 21 off 6 balls with three sixes to lead the West Indies to victory. .

Lakshan Sandakan took 3 wickets for 29 runs while Dushmantha Chameera and Vanidu Hasaranga shared 2 wickets each.

Sri Lanka skipper Angelo Mathews won the toss and elected to bat first.

Dinesh Chandimal, who failed in both the first and second T20I matches, scored 54 off 46 balls with three fours. He was assisted by youngster Ashen Bandara who scored an unbeaten 44 off 35 balls with two sixes and three fours, but it was not enough for Sri Lanka to win.

Accordingly, the ODI series between the two countries is scheduled to begin on the 10th of this month.
