Dinusha Gomes wins second medal for Sri Lanka at CWG 2018

Sri Lanka’s weightlifter Dinusha Gomes finished third in the Women’s 48kg category at the Carrara Sports Arena at Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, Australia.
The first place was won by the current CWG record holder India’s Chanu Saikom Mirabai who scored a 196 points to better her own record of 194 points established in California Last November.
The second place was won by Mauritius’s Marie Hanitra who scored 170 points ahead of Sri Lanka weight lifter who scored 155 points.
This brings the second medal for Sri Lanka at 2018 Commonwealth Games, both in weighlifting to place 8th in overall standings.
