Sri Lanka defeated India by three wickets in a run-chase of 227 runs in the third ODI at Colombo on Friday. Avishka Fernando was the player of the match and was also the top scorer for Sri Lanka with his 72 runs, he was well supported by Bhanuka Fernando who stood for a partnership of 109 runs with him for the second wicket.
Sri Lanka might have won the match but India took the ODI series 2-1. Indian batsmen were completely failed while batting first in the final ODI and were all-out for just 225 runs in 43.1 overs. The pitch had helped spinners a lot, first Sri Lanka spinners Akila Dhananjaya and Praveen Jayawickrama got six wickets together. From India, Rahul Chahar was the star performer with his 3 wickets. Now, the two teams will face off in 3-match T20I series starting July 25.
