Sri Lanka’s Mahesh Jayakody compete in the Men’s Rowing – Single Sculls (PR1) Final B event and finished 6th with a time of 13.12.33. He only managed to take the last position (12) in the event ranking.
He finished Repechage 2 with a time of 11:21.31 after competing at the first heat with a time of 12:16.80 and finished sixth place.
Mahesh is the first athlete who has qualified for a Paralympic Rowing event in Sri Lankan Paralympic history.
Aleksey Chuvashev Refugee Paralympic Team won the event with a time of 10.26.99. Marcus Klemp of Germany (10.32.27) and Michel Munoz Malagon of Mexico (11.25.84) secured second and third positions respectively.
