Sri Lankan ace sprinter Yupun Abeykoon has been named among the top eight athletes to have represented Sri Lanka in the 100m event of the 2021 season of the Diamond League, a premier sporting event.
Yupun confirmed this on his Facebook account, adding that this was an honor for him and a great achievement in his career.
It has also been confirmed that Yupun will participate in the Zurich Diamond League stage, which will be held in Switzerland on the 8th and 9th of this month as its second Diamond League tournament.
He has qualified for the men’s 100m final and will compete in the final on September 9.
