Sri Lankan Men’s 4X100m relay team bettered the national record at to finish sixth at the final of the 21 st Commonwealth Games on Saturday (14th) in Gold Coast with a time of 39.08secs.

Sri Lankan runners Himasha Eshan, Shehan Ambeypitiya, Ashraff Ladeef and Vinoj Suranjaya were in their full force to stamp a mark at the games in short distance running where Sri Lanka represented 4×100 event after a lapse of 68 years.

The team finished thirdd in the semi-final with a time of 39.47.

The previous record of 39.38 secs was run by the same team at the 2015 Asian Championships in Wuhan, China.
