President of the Sri Lanka Cycling Federation (CFSL) N. Karunaratne left the island on Wednesday to attend the Congress and Elections of the Union Cycliste International. The Congress is to begin in Belgium today September 24. He is also elected to lead the Asian delegation of 34 participants. During this period the UCI has also made arrangements to conduct the UCI World Cycling Championships.
Karunaratna will act as the head of the delegation representing the Asian Cycling Federation, in addition to his role as President of the CFSL voting for the Congress. Out of 197 member countries, only 45 countries have the voting rights at the elections to be held to elect new Official
