Milka Gehani, the only Sri Lankan to qualify for the Olympics in Artistic Gymnastics, has won a gold medal in the team event at the 2021 All-Japan Senior and Master’s Gymnastics Championships in Yamagata, Japan.
Accordingly, Gehani and all the five athletes who participated in the event with her have won the gold medal in the team event.
Gehani is still 18 years old and is currently training in Japan. She qualified for the Artistic Gymnastics event at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics and became the first Sri Lankan athlete in Olympic history to qualify for the event.
