Seekkuge Prasanna guide Colombo Stars with raining sixes

Kandy Warriors and Colombo Stars played today (14) in the 15th match of the Lanka Premier League. Colombo Stars won the match by 5 wickets.

Colombo Stars captain Angelo Mathews won the toss and elected to bowl first. Kennar Lewis and Charith Asalanka of Kandy Warriors added 77 runs for the first wicket.

The Colombo Warriors restricted the Kandy Warriors to 146, wasting the fast opening partnership of Kennar Lewis and Charith Asalanka. Dushmantha Chameera took 4 wickets while Ashan Priyanjan, Dhananjaya de Silva, Seekuge Prasanna and Naveen-ul-Haq took one wicket each. At the end of the innings Kandy Warriors scored 146 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.
Nimesh Vimukthi took the first wicket of the Colombo Stars' innings in the third ball of the innings to chase down a target of 147 runs. Removing those wishes from the field without scoring.
Sherfane Rutherford hit a four off the first ball of the 19th over and Seek's six off the fifth ball turned the Colombo Stars' innings into 129 runs. Accordingly, their target in the last over was 16 runs.

Lahiru Kumara's second ball from the final over was bowled by Seekuge Prasanna from the fine leg zone to give the Colombo team hope.
Colombo Stars won the match by 5 wickets scoring 150 runs in 19 overs.

Nimesh Vimukthi took two wickets for Kandy Warriors while Kamindu Mendis, Charith Asalanka and Sachindu Colombage took one wicket each.

The man of the match award went to Seekuge Prasanna.

With this victory, Colombo Stars finished third in the bonus points table and Kandy Warriors remain fifth.
