After nearly a month of cricket in the second edition of Lanka Premier League, it all comes down to the finals. The teams have met each other last year and Jaffna under the new name as Jaffna Kings, are looking to fight for the title against perennial rivals, Galle Gladiators.
The Galle Gladiators have beaten the Jaffna Kings twice this year and will look to upset the stronghold of the Kings who have recorded 6 wins in the group stage with the only 2 defeats against the Gladiators. The Kings will be led by Thisara Perera and the Gladiators will be led by Bhanuka Rajapakse.
Looking at the team composition, the have very destructive batters and also have impressive spinners. It would be an interesting contest depending on who will be batting first because both sides are capable of posting big totals and restricting the team chasing.
The Kingsmen will feature star players like captain Thisara Perera, Avishka Fernando, Rahmanulla Gurbaz, Tom Kohler-Cadmore and spin twins Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana. The Gladiators have names like captain Bhanuka Rajapakse, Kusal Mendis, Samith Patel, Mohomad Hafeez and Nuwan Thushara.
The finals will commence at 7.30 p.m. at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota.
