The Sri Lanka U19s recorded their second win in Asia Cup. They beat Nepal U19 by 60 runs and have qualified foe the Semi Finals.
Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. They once again racked a 300+ score as they finished on 322 for 4 in 50 overs. A boxing day special was two of the top order batters Sadisha Rajapaksa and Chamindu Wickramasinghe scoring centuries. They scored 131 and 111 respectively. Captain Dunith Wellalage scored a quickfire 34*.
In the bowling, Raveen De Silva and Matheesha Pathirana did some late damage and picked up 3 wickets each. Careless batting cost Nepal badly and succumbed to a 60 run defeat. There were lot of runs on offer on this track but the Sri Lankan juniors showed their fielding talent with 7 catches and 2 run outs. Arjun Saud top scored with 64.
The Sri Lanka Under 19s next match is against Bangladesh on the 28th. The Semi finals will be held on the 30th.
