The first female French athlete team for the 20th edition of Raid Amazones arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday.
Flown in by national carrier SriLankan Airlines as the airline sponsor of the event, 253 athletes landed from Paris to participate in the biggest women’s adventure challenge in the world.
Raid Amazones 2022 is the first adventure sports festival to be hosted by Sri Lanka since being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The event will kick off on March 16, where the first phase will end on March 22. The second phase will take place from March 28 to April 6. A series of events will be held in Sigiriya, Kaudulla, Medirigiriya, Wewala, Kandalama and Mahawilgamuwa.
