Sri Lankan athlete Yupun Abeykoon yesterday (24) set the Asian record in the men's 150m event for the first time in 2022.
Yupun, who finished first in the men's 150m at the Perseo Trophy 2022 in Italy in 15.16 seconds, broke the 2017 Asian record set by Yoshihide Kiryu of Japan in 15.35 seconds.
In addition to Yupun Abeykoon, Sri Lankan Vinura Lakmal also finished the race in 16.83 seconds.
Yupun, who is training in Italy, broke the Sri Lankan and South Asian records (10.15 seconds) in the 100m last year.
