Australian players-national team and “A” team-arriving in Sri Lanka on Wednesday will have “safe space” and no bio-bubble. This was revealed by Prof. Arjuna de Silva, the chairman of the medical panel.
Speaking exclusively over the telephone from Colombo, he said, “After considering many requests from players and the current situation in Sri Lanka, Australia tour will no longer have a bio bubble but a safe space”.
“With families being with the players, there will be, however, self testing and symptomatic testing and limited access to the visitors”.
“Also the players will have access to selected restaurants outside, the hotel and golf and beach areas. We also take this opportunity to invite Australians to visit Sri Lanka and enjoy the country and the cricket”, he signed off.
Mahinda Halangoda and Charith Senanayake will manage Sri Lanka’s national and “A” teams respectively.
Incidentally, the Sri Lankan players last visited Bangladesh had no bio-bubble. The BCB also made it a safe environment.
