Pakistan women able to secure 8 wicket win over Sri Lankan women in the first ODI played between two teams on Wednesday.
Taking the first lese of the wicket Sri Lankan lases put up a target of 170 runs for the opponents. Middle order batter Kavisha Diljhari made unbeaten 49 runs and not fortunate to reach the half century milestone as her partners tumbled down in the pother end. Prasadini Weeerakkody and skipper Chamari Atapattu scored 30 runs and 25 runs respectively for the visitors. gulam Patima was the pick of the ballers for Pakistan as she claimed four wickets for 21. Fatima Sana and Sadia Iqbal took two wickets each.
In replaying Pakistan women manage to cross the winning runs with a loss of two wickets in 41.5 overs. Sidra Ameen and Skipper Bismah Mahroof put up a stand of 143 runs for the second wicket which helped the home team to make their wining way more steady. Sidra made 76 and Bismah scored 62 . Oshadi Ranasinghe and Achini Kulasuriya too one wicket each for Sri Lanka.
The second ODI of the three match series will get underway on Friday and the final ODI is scheduled for Sunday 5 June.
