Sri Lankan U19 tamed Young Lions in a drawn game

The 3-day warm up match of the Sri Lanka U19 tour of England 2022 between Sri Lanka U19 and  Young Lions Invitational XI  ended in a draw.

batting first Sri Lanka U19 made 248 for seven with Asitha Wanninayake was the top scorer with unbeaten century. he retired after making his century . Skipper Raveeen De Silva scored 33 and middle order batter Ravindu Somarathna mage 29. Sadisha Rajapaksa and Pawan Pathiraja contributed with 23 runs each for the total score.

In replaying Young Lions managed to make 104 runs all out. wanaju sahan was the main striker of the Sri Lankan U19 bowling attack and captured 4 wickets for 13 runs.  Samuditha Rajaguru and Duvindu Ranatunga captured 2 wickets each.

Sri Lankan U19 batted in the second innings and  were 132 for two wickets when the play stopped for the last day. Abhishek Liyanarachchi score 51 and retired himself paving other batters to have more batting practice. Opener Rajapaksa scored 32.  Shevon Daneil and Lahiru Dewatage made 25 and 21 runs respectively.

The three day match played from 16th August to 18th August at Brockington Ground, Loughborough.
