Wasim Akram arriving in Sri Lanka for the final leg of LPL

Former Pakistani captain Wasim Akram is arriving in Sri Lanka on Wednesday. This was revealed by Samantha Dodanwela, the director of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) tournament.
Speaking exclusively over the telephone from Colombo, he said, “Akram is one of the brass ambassadors of the tournament and we have invited him to watch the matches and accordingly, he will be here to witness the final leg of the LPL”.
“We have sent the invitations to all national cricket boards, including Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary. So far no confirmation from Shah has reached”.
“Akram has followed the last two editions of this tournament also and has praised the quality of cricket being played in this country”.
“Akram will be free to interact with the fans”, Dodanwela added.
“Akram, the Brass Ambassador and the guest speaker will be at the Stadium on both days on Thursday and Friday for the second qualifier and Final”, Anil Mohan, the CEO of the IPG, hosting the tournament informs.
“It will; be a big closing ceremony on Friday and we have arranged a firework show on the day”, Mohan signed off.
